Quick answers to the most common things people ask us.
How do I log a meal?
Tap the + button on the home screen and pick how you want to log: Search the food database, Voice (speak your meal), or Photo (snap a picture of your food).
How do I log home-cooked meals or smoothies?
Use Voice log to speak each ingredient of your home-cooked meal or smoothie. The AI captures the full recipe so the nutrition reflects what you actually made — not a generic dish.
Eating out? Not sure what to order?
Klenz can read any restaurant menu. Tap the + button, choose Scan menu, and photograph the menu. Klenz scores every item and surfaces the best picks based on the nutrients you're missing that day — so you walk in already knowing what to order.
How do I check ingredients or additives in a packaged food?
Tap the + button and choose Scan barcode. Point your camera at the barcode on any packaged food and Klenz pulls up the ingredient list, flags additives, and shows the Klenz Score so you can decide before you buy.
Can I log a meal without my phone? (e.g. phones not allowed at work)
Yes — visit
klenz.app/log from any browser on your laptop, work computer, or any device. Speak or type your meal and it syncs with the mobile app automatically. No app install needed.
How does the Klenz Score work?
The Klenz Score is a 0–100 rating that evaluates the nutritional composition of your food using AI and machine learning. It supports anti-inflammatory eating patterns by highlighting nutrient-dense foods. Tap About Klenz Score in the app's Settings menu for the full methodology.
Can I backdate meals I forgot to log?
Yes — Klenz supports backdating up to 30 days. Use voice log ("I had a burrito last Tuesday for lunch") and Klenz figures out the date and meal automatically. Or search for the item, tap Track, then pick the time and date you want it logged.
How do I plan my daily meals?
On the home screen, tap Plan nutrition. Klenz looks at the nutrients you've been hitting and missing, then generates a personalized meal plan that fills your gaps. You can ask for adjustments — vegetarian, budget-friendly, no dairy, whatever — and it'll regenerate.
How do I plan my groceries?
On the home screen, tap Plan groceries. Klenz builds a personalized grocery list based on the nutrients you need most — not a generic "healthy foods" list, but the specific items that fill the gaps in your diet right now.
How do I change my activity level or nutrient targets?
Both are right on the home screen. Tap Activity in the top left to change your activity level. To adjust your nutrient targets, tap Edit Targets.
Can I change which nutrient shows on my home screen?
Yes. Tap Change under the nutrient ring on the home screen and pick the nutrient you want to track as your hero metric.
How do I delete my account and data?
Submit an account deletion request at
this form, or email
team.klenz@gmail.com. All your data — meals, scans, AI conversations, insights, and settings — is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Is my data private?
Yes. We do not sell or trade your personal information. Limited data is shared with AI processing services only as needed to power features like menu scanning and Ask Klenz, and is not used to train third-party models. See our
Privacy Policy for full details.
Why is my Klenz Score different than I expected?
The Klenz Score reflects the nutritional composition of the specific food you logged. Different cooking methods, ingredient variations, brand-specific recipes, or portion sizes can all change the score. If you think a score looks wrong, email
team.klenz@gmail.com with the food name and we'll take a look.
Is Klenz a medical app?
No. Klenz is a nutrition tracking and food scoring app. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical advice or before making changes to your diet.
